About Us

 Austin is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, where he earned a degree in Economics and Business. During his studies, he broadened his perspective through a study abroad program in Quito, Ecuador. 

Upon graduation, he joined Stryker Corporation’s fast-track financial analyst rotational program, gaining diverse experience in financial statement preparation, technical accounting, and earning the Certified Management Accountant designation. While at Stryker, Austin began building his real estate portfolio, acquiring over 35 rental units across 20 properties within five years. Managing his portfolio personally, he gained hands-on expertise in the Kalamazoo rental market. 

Today, his properties span the city's north, south, east, and west sides, including the Vine Neighborhood and Stuart Historical District. Austin has achieved success across various aspects of real estate and strongly advocates for property ownership as a cornerstone of long-term wealth building.

Outside of work, Austin and his wife, Kendra, enjoy life with their two-year-old son. In his free time, he is passionate about playing pickleball, riding his Peloton, drinking tea, and discussing all things real estate.

Mary Short graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Information Security Intelligence and Networking, earning recognition from the N.S.A and the Department of Homeland Security as part of a National Center of Academic Excellence. 

 Mary's career highlights her expertise in business intelligence, project management, and leadership, with notable roles in Oregon and Costa Rica. In Portland, she established herself as a hospitality leader, which led to her being headhunted to rebrand the luxury Flora Blanca Resort in Costa Rica. There, her leadership improved operational efficiency, drove consistent revenue growth, and achieved a 40% improvement in processes, along with a 60% increase in revenue.

Mary brings her skills to Edgestone Property Management, where she continues to excel in managing cross-functional teams, implementing innovative strategies, and driving business success.

Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mary supports the Western Michigan PMI Chapter and advocates for food security as a Feeding MI Families Fellow at the University of Michigan. 

In her free time, she volunteers with local animal groups, enjoys cooking, hot yoga, sports, and spending time with her children and pets.
